Sánchez announces that the Government will guarantee the right to be forgotten oncology

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced this Saturday that the government will guarantee the right to be forgotten oncology. After a visit to cancer patients and associations in Seville, Sánchez conveyed the commitment to “immediately implement this new right to the representatives of different entities and associations linked to the fight against cancer”.

The Government will finance 50% of Interrail and apply discounts of up to 90% for young people to travel through Spain

After the trip to Washington to meet with the President of the United States, Joe Biden, the PSOE leader landed directly from the White House in the middle of the campaign to support the candidacy of Antonio Muñoz, the mayor of the largest city governed by the PSOE and which will be one of the symbols of victory or defeat for the left on the night of 28M.

During the meeting, and after the meeting with associations supporting children with cancer, the president announced that his Executive will promote the modification of the Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, of November 16, which approves the revised text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users and other complementary laws, and the Insurance Contract Law. In this way, this new commitment announced with Sánchez will enter into force in June and will have three main objectives.

First, “declare null and void all clauses based on cancer history that exclude or discriminate when contracting products or services.” It is also intended to “prohibit taking into account the oncological history of the insured to impose more onerous conditions in insurance contracts.” Thirdly, this new government measure also aims to “establish, for the first time, the right not to declare that cancer has been suffered when they go to take out insurance linked to a mortgage loan.”

As reported by the Government, these new rights “will benefit all people who have completed cancer treatment 5 years before the date of signing the contract, without subsequent relapse.”

The announcement comes after another series of measures released in recent weeks, such as the granting of 20% guarantees for the purchase of a home for young people and families with dependent minors or a 50% discount on the European Interrail for young people this summer.

Government action, campaign banner

Before 2,800 attendees, the President of the Government referred to his meeting with Biden this Friday to value the concrete results of that meeting that have to do with Seville. “The name of the city of Seville appeared in the conversation with Biden about the agreements between NASA and the new Spanish Space Agency that is based here. From Seville to Mars passing through the Moon, ”he said.

Fleeing from the story of the end of the cycle of the left and the wear and tear of the coalition Executive, the PSOE focuses a large part of its strategy for this campaign on vindicating the legislative legacy of the Sánchez government. The objective is to convert measures such as pension reform, labor or housing policy into an electoral asset. And in this line, the president once again highlighted “the social peace” that Spain is experiencing, unlike many other countries around it.

“Social peace: two words that summarize everything,” he said to highlight the value of some of the great milestones reached in the legislature. “A labor reform that has recovered rights for people, a pension reform with a commitment by law to always revalue the CPI. You have to deal with the frustration of the right because they have been announcing an apocalypse for years that never comes ”, he expressed.

Sánchez attacked the right again. “In the absence of arguments, his proposal is insulting, disqualifying and threatening to repeal. The only thing they propose is to dismantle, return to the Spain of 2013, that of cuts and social conflict, ”he criticized. The President of the Government, who ignored issues such as the clash over Doñana with the Junta de Andalucía or the controversy over the inclusion in the EH Bildu list of those convicted of blood crimes, (which he did condemn during his appearance at the White House), He did not miss one of the last lapses of Alberto Núñez Feijóo. “The other day he was wrong saying that he was in Andalusia although he was in Badajoz, I think that Feijóo ends the campaign asking for the vote for the PSOE”, he ironized.

Tour through several autonomous communities

After Andalusia, Sánchez will tour seven autonomous communities next week, with stops in 8 cities and the mid-campaign rally, on May 20, in Valencia, according to socialist sources.

This weekend he is participating in two events on Saturday in Seville, where he will begin the electoral campaign for the municipal and regional elections on May 28 upon his return from the visit to the US president, Joe Biden, and on Sunday in Puertollano. In this last square he will coincide with the president of Castilla La Mancha, Emiliano García Page and the Minister of Territorial Policy and former mayor of the town, Isabel Rodríguez.

As of Monday, there will be seven different Autonomous Communities to which he will go next week, although touring 8 cities. Thus, on Monday he will arrive in Vitoria together with the general secretary of the PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza, and the candidate for mayor of Vitoria, Maider Etxebarria.

On Tuesday he will play the Madrid town of Alcalá de Henares and on Wednesday the President of the Government will visit the Balearic Islands, with a stopover in Ibiza at noon and Palma de Mallorca in the afternoon.
