San Luis Potosí Prosecutor’s Office finds dozens of migrants who were missing

San Luis Potosi

( Spanish) — The Prosecutor’s Office of the Mexican city of San Luis Potosí reported that the Investigative Police (PDI) of the State Attorney General’s Office rescued 34 people who were kidnapped in the Cruz de Elorza community, near Doctor Arroyo, in the state of Nuevo Lion.

The Prosecutor’s Office added that with the backing and support of elements of the National Defense Secretariat (SEDENA), investigating agents managed to locate a farm where 10 men, 14 women, and 10 children were held captive.

The Prosecutor’s Office added that the release of the hostages was achieved after more than six hours of operations in the area, using a helicopter for tracking and investigation.

The investigative entity added that the success of this mission originated from the previous rescue of six other people, 5 men and a minor, during that same Wednesday that helped to find the whereabouts of the rest of the people.

According to the prosecution, the testimonies of these people confirm that they were illegally deprived of their liberty and that this happened in the state of Nuevo León and not in San Luis Potosí.

The prosecutor’s office ended the statement by saying that the search operation is continuing to find those responsible for having kept migrants deprived of their liberty.
