Samsung updates its Odyssey monitors with an 8K model with a 57-inch curved screen

samsung has announced its novelties in the range of video game monitors, which includes a new model with 8K resolution and a 57-inch curved screen that it will present within the framework of the CES 2023 fair.

The odyssey lineplus focused on video games The Neo G9 ultra-widescreen model (G95NC model) stands out, with double ultra-high definition resolution, for a “more immersive and realistic” gaming experience.

This ‘gaming’ monitor offers a 7,680 x 2,160 pixel resolution and one 32:9 aspect ratio on a single screen. Its 57-inch 1000R curved display uses quantum mini LED technology with VESA Display HDR 1000 specification, and supports a 240Hz refresh rate, as reported by the company in a press release.

The company highlights of this monitor the matte finish of the panel (Matte Display), which reduces the reflection of light on the screen, and the compatibility with DisplayPort 2.1, which transfers data approximately twice as fast as DisplayPort 1.4. It also enables lossless Display Stream Compression (DSC), the industry standard for transmitting information without distortion.

Within the Odyssey line, Samsung has also announced OLED G9 (model G95SC), which features a screen 49-inch curved 1800R Quad-HDand with an aspect ratio of 32:9.

OLED screen light each pixel separately and is not dependent on a backlight, allowing for a ratio of 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast while delivering RGB and true blacks without color filters.

For smooth gameplay, Odyssey OLED G9 also features a response time of 0.1 ms and a 240Hz refresh rate to eliminate lag and stuttering. It is also equipped with the Samsung Gaming Hub streaming game platform.

Samsung will present its new Odyssey monitors within the framework of the consumer electronics show CES 2023which will be held in Las Vegas (United States) between January 5 and 8.
