According to the company, the reason for removing this feature is the use of a larger sensor that requires a more bulky shape in the area of ​​contact with the wrist. This causes the coil that is responsible for receiving the wireless charge to be located further away from the edge of the watch, reducing efficiency and charging capacity.

In fact, this redesign means that the dedicated chargers of previous Galaxy Watch models also present operating problems by reducing the charging speed. This is a controversial measure, since European regulations currently seek to allow the reuse of device chargers and it seems that this redesign will force the use of a new charger if you want to take advantage of all the capabilities of Samsung’s new generation smartwatches.
