Samsung dominates the global mobile phone market with a 23.4% market share.
Surely if you have to name a couple of mobile phone brands, Apple’s iPhone or Samsung’s Galaxy come to mind, because both have practically dominated the market at will, for years now, and a recent report comes to put on the table the good health of both manufacturers.
And it is that according to a report of BanklessTimesSamsung was the top smartphone vendor globally during the first quarter of 2022 with a 23.4% market share global. South Koreans have sold 73 million of their phones in this first quarter of 2022.
Unsurprisingly Apple is in second place, with an 18% market shareafter having sold 56 million iPhones in that period of time.
Note that the report shows that Apple has had a year-on-year jump of 2.2%being the only OEM to post positive growth as the global mobile phone market fell 8.9% this quarter.
The rest of the phone manufacturers that have a very good market share are Xiaomi in third place, Oppo in fourth and Vivo in fifth place, representing 12.7%, 8.7% and 8.1% market share. market, respectively.
And it is that Apple’s data is really good, because it is a manufacturer that has a much shorter range than, for example, Samsung, and that sells its phones much more expensive, so it is quite an achievement to have sold 56 million units in the first three months of the year.
However, in a report we collected a few weeks ago, Apple was the world leader in terms of the premium mobile market during that quarter.
We have to see how Apple performs in this regard this year, because it is not expected that there will be a significant technological leap with the release of the iPhone 14, so presumably the iPhone 13 will continue to sell quite well considering that it would have to be more cheap and would offer very similar features.
