Samsung is already working on the first 1TB DDR5 RAM modules

Just over a year and a half ago, Samsung began developing its first DDR5 memory modules with 512 GB capacity. Time passes very quickly, especially in the technological market, and today the company has begun the development of modules that duplicate this capacity.

Therefore, we are talking about 1 TB of capacity can be achieved in a single DDR5 RAM module. Naturally, this type of module will not be for the domestic market and will be oriented towards enterprise data center, server and supercomputing systems equipped with processors such as the upcoming AMD EPYC Genoa based on Zen 4. In fact, the information on the existence of these modules has been filtered out from a meeting with AMD memory engineers.

These modules will be made up of the new 32 Gb (Gigabit) DDR5 memory chips, chips manufactured with 3D stacking with 8 layers.

They are not expected to be exactly cheap, like everything in this type of progress, the first models will have a very high price and will be oriented to very specific specifications where such a high memory density is needed. It will not be until later when these types of sizes begin to be standardized and reduce their prices.
