Initially released as a standalone app and later integrated as an add-on mode into Samsung’s camera app, Expert Raw allows high-end Samsung smartphones to squeeze their camera with manual settings and uncompressed Raw image creation. .
Now, the Korean company has added a new function to the Expert Raw terminals from a couple of generations ago, the Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy 21 Plus and Galaxy 21 Ultra, next to the Galaxy Z Fold4. We are talking about the so-called Astrophotography function, a mode that allows you to take long-exposure photographs in order to capture constellations and stars in the middle of the night.
The mode, already available through an update on the Galaxy App Store, offers the possibility of setting the exposure time in several minutes, and even displaying a guide to the sky in real time that will show us which constellations are where we are pointing.
Curiously, although many of its competitors have similar modes, Samsung had not included this option in the terminals of these ranges until now, with the Galaxy S22 being the first to adopt it. Better late than never. In addition, it is expected that it will also reach the phones of the Galaxy S20 line.
The update puts the new version Expert Raw 2.0.09.1, and it is already available from the Samsung Galaxy App Storealthough the April security update of this year is required to install it.
