betty white millions of people might love her for her performances on shows like “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Golden Girls” but don’t include fellow actress Sally Struthers on that list.
Struthers told the hosts that White once “embarrassed” her when they were working on a pilot of a new game show.
At one point, White asked his housekeeper for some food and the employee brought him a plate of cookies.
“So I had a cookie,” Struthers recounted, “and [White] He said in front of everyone: ‘Oh, I wouldn’t do that if I were you, dear, you don’t need a cookie.’”
Struthers said that White “tIt totally embarrassed me in front of the rest of the people in the room. And I thought, ‘God, that’s not nice.'”
But Struthers had kinder words about White’s “Golden Girls” co-star, Bea Arthur. She met Arthur when she guest-starred on “All In The Family” as Maude, Edith Bunker’s cousin, which became a successful spin-off.
Struthers said that, years later, he would see Arthur at the supermarket and the two would end up laughing out loud in the aisles.
“She would destroy everyone we knew,” Struthers recalled. “I loved how dirty it was.”
