Russia’s double revenge for the Ukrainian attack on the Crimean bridge

It has launched missiles and drones against Odessa and Mikolaiv and has announced the suspension of the grain export agreement with kyiv.

This is the result of what Russia has defined as a major retaliatory offensive for the Ukrainian attack on the bridge linking the annexed Crimea with its territory.

Attacks on Odessa and Mykolaiv

Moscow has launched drones against two enemy port cities, Odessa and Mykolaiv, from where traditionally freighters full of grain departed. kyiv claims it managed to bring down six missiles and twenty-one drones in the Odessa region. Although the rubble damaged several houses and part of the port, leaving at least one injured.

Russia, for its part, maintains that it has hit all its targets, destroying the facilities where the drone attacks were prepared, as well as fuel depots in Mikolaiv used by the Ukrainian army.

The Russian veiled threat

Meanwhile, on the Kerch bridge, they continue the long lines of Russian tourists to enter or leave the Crimean peninsula. The attack on Monday left one of its lanes inoperative.

The Kremlin has assured that repairing this 19-kilometre-long structure will cost a minimum of fourteen million dollars. It has also announced the suspension of the agreement with Ukraine for the export of grain. And it has veiledly warned Kiev that it is risky to continue shipping grain without Russian security guarantees.
