The Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, has promised the Russian troops fighting in Ukraine the prompt arrival of new consignments of ammunition on Saturday to continue the winter offensive in the east of the country.
“We have just determined the necessary volume of supplies of the most in-demand ammunition and we are taking the necessary measures to increase the rate of production,” he said during a visit to the invasion command and coordination center in Moscow.
“We are talking about both conventional and high-precision weapons. All this allows us to fulfill the tasks set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief (Vladimir Putin) in accordance with the plan to carry out this special military operation,” Shoigu said in reference to the invasion and in comments collected by the Russian agency TASS.
Shoigu has also attended the reading of “reports on the current situation” in Ukraine and held “additional meetings with the deputy defense ministers of the Russian Federation on troop supply issues.”
