September 1 () –
Russian air defence forces have intercepted more than 14 aircraft of Ukrainian troops over the Russian regions of Bryansk, Belgorod and Lipetsk, local authorities reported early Sunday morning.
Bryansk regional governor Alexander Bogomaz has shared a post on his Telegram channel in which he said that his air defense forces were continuing to “destroy enemy UAVs” over the region’s territory, saying that at the time of the post they had already shot down 14.
“As many as 14 more aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles have been discovered and destroyed by air defence units of the Russian Ministry of Defence,” Bogomaz said, revealing that “there have been no casualties or damage” and that emergency services are “available” at the scene.
For his part, the regional governor of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, has reported via the same platform that his defensive systems have shot down “several air targets as they approached the city,” although according to preliminary reports no casualties have been recorded.
However, material damage was caused to three apartment buildings, a private home, two commercial buildings and a car park, where a fire broke out and three vehicles were burned, according to Gladkov.
The governor of Lipetsk, Igor Artamonov, has also reported the destruction of a Ukrainian drone over the industrial zone of the region, in an offensive that – he assured – has not left any fatalities or injuries.
These attacks come after at least two people were killed and ten more were injured in a Russian bombing of a residential building in Cherkasi Lozova, in the Ukrainian region of Kharkiv, raising the death toll to nine and the number of injured to 107 in the last few hours, Ukrainian authorities reported on Saturday.
