Russian authorities arrest three more people in connection with the Crocus City Hall attack

Russia has detained others three people suspected of being involved in the attack which took place last month at the Crocus City Hall concert hall near the capital, Moscow, as reported this Thursday by the FSB security service. According to a statement from this organization, one of the detainees is a Russian national and the other two are foreigners, both originating from Central Asia. The arrests took place in Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Omsk.

Two of those arrested are accused of transfer money for the purchase of firearms and vehicles which were used by the four attackers of the concert hall. The third suspect is charged with recruit accomplices and raise funds for the attackas reported by Europa Press.

State media published an FSB video showing the three arrests, in which the suspects were detained on the street and put into unmarked vans.

These three new arrests join the dozen suspects who have already been detained, including the four material authors of the attack, who appeared before the judge on March 25 with obvious signs of torture. The four suspects arrived at court blindfolded and dragged and pushed by police officers, their faces covered in bruises and wounds, and another with bandages and missing an ear.

Identified as Dalerjon Barotovich Mirzoev, Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni and Muhammadsobir Fayzov, a Russian court has formally charged them with terrorism and they have been sent to preventive detention.

In the attack at least 144 people died and the Islamic State terrorist group claimed responsibility, although Russia has said, without providing any evidence, that it believes that Ukraine was behind the massacre. Russian President Vladimir Putin declared Thursday that Russia “cannot be the target of terrorist attacks by Islamic fundamentalists,” as it is a unique example of interreligious harmony.

Putin did not mention Ukraine in his last appearance, although he had already said that kyiv would gain from the attack and that the four suspected attackers were heading to the Ukrainian borderwhere he said someone had prepared a “window” for them to cross at the time of their arrest in western Russia.

Ukraine has denied involvement and the United States, which had relayed an intelligence warning to Moscow about an imminent attack by Islamist militants, has said Moscow's attempt to blame Kiev is propaganda and nonsense.
