The air defense forces of the Russian Army have neutralized during the early hours of this Saturday more than 60 unmanned aircraft of Ukrainian origin directed towards different regions of the country, including Kursk, Bryansk and Moscow, national authorities have reported in a statement.

“Last night, an attempt by the kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using unmanned aerial vehicles against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped,” the Ministry of Defense said in a post on its Telegram channel.

Specifically, the Government reported early this Sunday that “service air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 31” drones over Bryansk (17), Rostov (3), Belgorod (2) and Kursk (1), to which must be added another eight shot down over the Oryol region, according to its governor, Andrei Klichkov.

Shortly after, the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, reported the detection and subsequent downing of another 32 drones flying towards Moscow, over the urban districts of Ramenskoye, where a woman was injured, as well as in Domodedovo and Kolomna.

Following this attack, the Federal Air Transport Agency reported that it restricted the operation of the Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports to ensure flight safety.

The drone attacks this morning occurred after the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office reported this Saturday the death of a woman in a Russian night attack against the port city of Odessa, where 13 other people have also been injured, including two children.
