Russian air defense intercepts 61 Ukrainian drones in different parts of the country

MADRID Jan. 5 () –

The air defense forces of the Russian Army have intercepted around 61 drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over different regions of the country during the early hours of this Saturday, most of them in Rostov and Bryansk, according to Russian authorities.

“During last night, service air defense systems destroyed 61 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles,” the Russian Defense Ministry detailed in a message broadcast through its official Telegram channel.

Specifically, the Russian Government has clarified that 37 of these drones have been destroyed in the Rostov region, 20 more in Bryansk, two in Voronezh and one in Oryol.

The war in Ukraine broke out almost three years ago, when at the end of February 2022 the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, gave the order to militarily invade his neighboring country. Since then the conflict has progressed without apparent continuity and with the battle front lines stagnant.
