Latest news about the Ukrainian-Russian war
November 18 () –
The Russian Ministry of Justice has warned that both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and “his henchmen” will be held accountable for the alleged execution of Russian prisoners of war by Ukrainian soldiers.
“Zelenski and his henchmen will have to answer before the court of history, the peoples of Russia and Ukraine for each and every one of the tortured and murdered prisoners,” the Justice Ministry said in a statement.
Likewise, the Ministry has stressed that the circumstances of the alleged execution of these ten prisoners of war cannot be defended by Ukraine or by anyone in the international community as “a tragic exception”, collects TASS.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has accused the Ukrainian military this Friday of the execution of at least a dozen prisoners of war captured in images that it has denounced as a “methodical and intentional murder”.
Although the Ministry’s statement does not provide details for the moment about the executions, its publication coincides with a complaint also made this Friday by the pro-Russian authorities of the Donetsk region about a possible massacre of Russian soldiers in the town of Makivka, right next to east of the capital.
In this context, the Russian Foreign Ministry has called on international organizations to “condemn this heinous crime” and launch an “exhaustive” investigation so that these alleged executions do not go unpunished.
