Russia warns that all military factories in Ukraine are "legitimate targets" of its Armed Forces

Jul 31. () –

Russian authorities warned on Wednesday that all companies and factories in Ukraine engaged in the military and arms sector are “legitimate targets” of its Armed Forces in the context of the war, which began at the end of February 2022 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This was confirmed by the deputy spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Nastasin, who at a press conference brought up reports that the German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall could build “an ammunition production plant in Ukraine,” according to the Russian agency TASS.

“In this regard, we remind you that there will be no factories in Ukraine. Any military factory is a legitimate target of the Russian Armed Forces,” said Nastasin, who took the opportunity to criticize the possible construction of an ammunition factory on Ukrainian territory due to, among other things, its high cost.

“Unlike investments in development and repair, Western military personnel do not hesitate to spend money on weapons production. Making money from war and blood has always been and remains a tradition of Western businessmen,” the Russian diplomatic spokesman said.
