The Russian electoral authorities have confirmed that the accession referendums held in four regions of eastern Ukraine, and not recognized by the international community, have resulted in results that in some cases exceed the 97 percent support for ‘yes’.
The consultations began on Friday in the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk Y Luganskas well as in the regions of Kherson Y Zaporizhiaand have concluded this Tuesday.
The results released by the Russian Electoral Commission, with the counts already completed in most cases, show overwhelming support in the four territories, especially in Donetsk, where the 98.7 percent, according to TASS.
In Lugansk the ‘yes’ has reaped 97.93 percent; in Zaporizhia, 97.81 percent; while the Kherson region has been the one that has received the least support for joining Russia, although the votes in favor have been notably higher, with 96.75 percent.
