Russia thwarts a Ukrainian attempt to cross the border in Briansk

6 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has frustrated this Thursday the attempt of a group of about twenty Ukrainian soldiers to cross the border in the Bryansk region, bordering the Sumi and Chernigov regions, in northern Ukraine.

“Today the FSB Border Directorate for the Bryansk region has thwarted an attempt to penetrate the territory of Russia (…) by a 20-person Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group,” said the governor of Bryansk. , Alexander Bogomaz.

The governor has published a message on his official Telegram channel where he has reported that the Russian Armed Forces, together with “border troop units”, have “inflicted a defeat by fire on the enemy” in the town of Sluckhovsk, district of Pogarski.

Bogomaz has also reported that Ukrainian troops have bombarded another settlement also in Pogarski, although he has celebrated that no injuries have been reported although ten houses have been partially destroyed.

Already at the beginning of March the Russian authorities warned of an attempted Ukrainian incursion also in Briansk. On that occasion, FSB agents “expelled” the “saboteurs” towards Ukrainian territory, where a “massive artillery attack” was launched against them.

The Russian authorities, including President Vladimir Putin, came to brand that Ukrainian incursion as a “terrorist act”, since the attackers even opened fire on civilians in the town of Klimovski, killing two people.

Briansk, Kursk and other Russian regions located on the border have been the scene of attacks attributed to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, mainly with drones, in the framework of the invasion of Ukraine, unleashed on February 24, 2022 by order of President Putin.
