Russia takes control of two more towns in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine

MADRID 6 Nov. () –

The Russian authorities announced this Wednesday the capture of two other cities located in the Ukrainian province of Donetsk, in the east of the country, thus continuing to consolidate their advances within the framework of the invasion unleashed in February 2022.

The Ministry of Defense has indicated in a statement that the Armed Forces have extended their control in the area affected by the “special military operation” by taking over the towns of Antonovka and Maximovka.

Thus, he has specified that this “liberation” has occurred thanks to the operations launched by the units of the South and East group of the Army, which have managed to “successfully” carry out their “offensive actions.”

Donetsk, along with Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhia, all of them partially occupied within the framework of the invasion, were annexed in October 2022 by Russia, a measure not recognized by the international community that was added to the annexation in 2014 of the Crimean peninsula by Moscow.
