The Russian Foreign Ministry has indicated in a statement that all of them have engaged in “actions contrary to Russia” and has specified that they are, for the most part, deputies of the Legislative Assemblies of the states of Victoria and South Australia.

“In response to politically motivated sanctions against Russian individuals and entities by the Australian Government as part of an anti-Russian campaign, we have decided to introduce measures to prevent the entry of these Australian citizens into the country,” the text states.
