Today’s latest news about the Ukrainian-Russian war

3 Jan. () –

Russian authorities reported Monday that they have shot down at least two Ukrainian drones in the city of Sevastopol, on the Crimean peninsula, after several days of Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian cities.

The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, initially indicated that the air defense system was active in Sevastopol, announcing that a drone had been shot down over the sea.

“Air defense systems have shot down another UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) over the sea. Our Army continues to repel the attack. Everyone, please remain calm,” Razvozhaev shared through his Telegram profile.

Sevastopol is home to the main base of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet and there have been several attempted drone strikes in recent weeks. At the beginning of December, the authorities reported a powerful explosion in the center of the city, which several residents told the TASS news agency, could correspond to the fall of a missile.

In October, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used explosive-laden remote control boats to attack the Russian fleet near Sevastopol.
