In an action that sounds strange in the civilized world, Russia has fined TikTok $51,000 for violating one of its laws. However, these are not laws that have to do with the privacy or security of users, but with a law that directly attacks the LGTBQ collective.
The fine is based on charges related to TikTok’s promotion of non-traditional values, as well as distorting traditional values, showing feminist videos, and videos featuring LGBT people. These are some charges in which it would be unthinkable to receive a fine, for example, in Spain.
Along with this fine, Russia has also fined Twitch $68,000. for having hosted an interview with the Ukrainian presidential adviser Oleksiy Arestovych, an interview that Russia claims violates several laws around the fake newslaws that have recently been toughened to measure to ensure that no one discredits your army.
Neither company has responded to questions about it, but as we read in TheVergeit seems that Russia is limited to declare small fines that little by little are adding up to a significant totalwhich is currently over $130,000 for Twitch.
