The Russian Government has announced this Thursday that it declares nine Finnish diplomats ‘persona non grata’ and has withdrawn its permission for the activities of the Finnish Consulate in Saint Petersburg due to the “anti-Russian stance” of Helsinki in the framework of the invasion of Ucarnia .

The Russian Foreign Ministry has pointed out in a statement published on its website that it has summoned the Finnish ambassador, Antti Helantera, to transfer the decision to him and “firmly protest” the “confrontational” policy adopted by the Finnish authorities.

The ministry also stressed that “the parameters currently being discussed for Finland’s entry into NATO pose a threat to Russia’s security” and stressed that “encouraging the Kiev regime to go to war and handing over Western weapons is hostile actions against the country”.

“This position of the Finnish authorities cannot go unanswered,” he said, before detailing that the consent to the activities of the Finnish Consulate in Saint Petersburg will come to an end on October 1, the date by which the diplomatic legation must stop all your activities.
