Just yesterday we echoed the Russian attack on Ukraine that resulted in an explosion near an office building that, among other organizations, had the Samsung research and development office. Nevertheless, now Russia seems to be going ahead with the tech ones, including Meta on its list of terrorist organizations.
As we can read in Europe Press, this interpretation of Meta as a terrorist organization means that everything that falls under its umbrella is considered the same, as would be the case with Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. This has been done on the basis of two articles of the Russian penal code that they point to Meta as a participant in acts of terrorist propaganda and incitement to hatred and enmity with the threat of violence.
LikewiseMeta is accused of lowering its restrictions on hate content towards Russian citizens in a decision that promotes the permissibility of terrorist activities against the population and military personnelquite severe words for what ultimately continues to be a conglomerate of social networks.
It is not the first time that we have seen actions to protect the army, because, for example, at the beginning of the month Twitch received a fine of 68,000 dollars in relation to the violation of toughened laws to protect its army.
