The Russian Defense Ministry has claimed that it has “thwarted” a “terrorist attack” by eliminating two drones from Ukraine that intended to attack the city of Moscow.
“Through electronic warfare, two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been suppressed and crashed. As a result of the Kiev regime’s repressed terrorist attack, no (recorded) victims,” reads a statement published by the ministerial portfolio on its Telegram channel.
The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, has reported that the incident took place around 04:00 (local time) and that it has damaged two residential buildings. In addition, he has indicated that “there has been no serious damage or casualties” and that the emergency services are at the scene of the attack.
Sources of the emergency services have indicated in statements to the Interfax agency that the drones have crashed in two districts, in which windows have been broken and the roof has been partially damaged. The traffic on the roads where the aircraft have crashed have seen their traffic suspended.
