The Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Sunday to have repelled a massive attack by Ukrainian drones against the Crimean city of Sevastopol, base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The enclave is the main Russian military nucleus in the annexed peninsula of crimea which Ukraine wishes to recover.
“This morning an attempt by the kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack with seven unmanned aerial devices and two semi-submersibles drones against targets on the territory of the Crimean peninsula near the city of Sevastopol,” Defense said in a statement.
According to the note, two drones were destroyed by air defense and the other five more were neutralized by electronic means. None of them could reach their goals. In addition, in the northern part of the Black Sea, two unmanned vessels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were discovered and killed, reports efe.

“As a result of the foiled terrorist attack, there were no casualties or damage“, they assured the Russian ministry. The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, has remarked that the attack was “massive and prolonged.”
Maritime transport, including passenger ships, were suspended for several hours this Sunday. Ukraine has yet to comment on the attack.
