Russia and Ukraine they exchanged this Friday 95 prisoners of war each in a completed agreement with the help of the United Arab Emirates acting as mediatorreported the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In a post on the Telegram messaging app, the ministry said returning Russian servicemen were undergoing medical checks in Belarusone of Russia’s closest allies in the war that has lasted more than two and a half years.
There has been no news yet of this exchange from the Ukrainian authorities.
Most Russian prisoners returned they would have been captured in the Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces began an incursion last August.
The last exchange, involving 103 prisoners from both sides, took place last September.
