March 3 () –
The Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom has accused London of manufacturing the chemical attack with nerve gas suffered in 2018 by the Russian ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in the British town of Salisbury and has assured that it invented the case to prepare the population ” for a confrontation” like the one in Ukraine.
“Now we understand that London was not interested in seeking the truth. The British invented the chemical incident in Salisbury to begin preparing their population and their allies for a confrontation that is now, on a political-military level, (is) in Ukraine.” , has assured in a statement collected by the TASS news agency.
In addition, the Russian diplomatic mission has sent a note to the British Foreign Office demanding clarification on the health and location of both Skripal and his daughter Yulia. “For all these years, the true circumstances of what happened have not been established by the British authorities,” she said.
In this sense, he pointed out that London has “absolutely” rejected the cooperation offered by Russia at the same time that it has “stubbornly” repeated the accusations against Moscow. “It is obvious that the events of 2018 were just a ‘test’ in a systematic information and psychological campaign aimed at demonizing Russia,” she concluded.
The UK accused Russia of being behind the March 2018 case of Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury, who were found unconscious next to a Salisbury shopping center and admitted to a nearby hospital with a very serious prognosis.
In the wake of the case, at least 21 people received medical treatment after being exposed to a Soviet-era chemical agent. Moscow denied its involvement at all times and asked London to cooperate in the investigation and to be able to offer consular support to Yulia Skripal, a Russian citizen.
