Rodríguez criticizes the "absolute ignorance" by Sumar and Errejón on the Law of the Soil: "They have not set foot in a town hall"

May 24. () –

The Minister of Housing and Urban Agenda, Isabel Rodríguez, has regretted the rejection of the reform of the Land Law by Sumar and has criticized the comparison with the measures taken by the former ‘popular’ president José María Aznar. She has assured that this accusation demonstrates the “absolute ignorance of someone who has not set foot in a town hall.”

In an interview with Onda Cero, collected by Europa Press, the minister expressed that Sumar’s spokesperson in Congress, Iñigo Errejón, demonstrates an “absolute ignorance” typical of someone who “has not set foot in a town hall” and of someone who “does not know the meaning of an urban plan”, saying that the Land Law is heir to Aznar’s time.

In this way, Rodríguez has advised Errejón that “since they do not have councilors anywhere in Spain”, he should get together with those from other leftist formations, and “walk through the town halls” of cities with urban planning problems to understand “in what the law they propose is about. “Seeing the housing problem today, with the perspective or perspective of 15 years ago, is not having understood anything,” he added.

“I did not trust Sumar, they do not have representation in the city councils and this is a rule that interests and matters to us, and that we have worked on, cared for and promoted the parties with a municipalist presence, that is why from the first moment I have trusted the Popular Party , perhaps it is another of my sins,” Rodríguez continued explaining.

Finally, he has expressed that he “does not understand” Sumar’s rejection of the law in Congress, since they supported it in the Council of Ministers, and has framed the PP’s rejection as the proximity of the European elections. He has also confessed that he did not expect that “they would have to take them (the PP) before a notary” to get them to support the rule, since, in his opinion, those of Alberto Núñez Feijóo “are interested in” and share “the philosophy”.
