Last week Nintendo announced that it would buy a company specializing in animation and production, which would henceforth become Nintendo Pictures. The new name, naturally, gave something to talk about because it showed the company’s plans to have a focused studio for its animation projects. Although most did not see it coming, for some it was not so surprising, as there was a 2006 title that predicted this name.

If you are a fan of rhythm games and a Nintendo user, you have most likely played a title in the 2000s called Elite Beat Agentsthe Western adaptation of the game Osu! Tatakae! ouendan which was developed by iNiS and published by Nintendo under the Touch! Generation, which was trying to appeal to a casual audience.

doElite Beat Agents predicted the formation of Nintendo Pictures?

The interesting thing about this game is that, as we told you, it predicted the creation of the newly formed studio Nintendo Pictures.

There is a level in the game where filmmaker Chris Silverscreen needs the help of agents Morris, J and Derek to make his movie, “Romancing Meowzilla” a box office hit. As in the other missions, the story is presented in panels and the player has to hit the notes of the song Makes no Difference.

In case you missed it: fan predicted years ago that Chris Pratt would be the actor who would voice Mario in the next movie of Super Mario.

What is striking is that in the scenes the filmmaker appears with a clapperboard that reads the name Nintendo Productions. Obviously, it is a fictitious name that the studio used as a joke, since at that time there was no company called that.

Obviously, unless iNiS had a time machine to travel to our present and correctly predict that Nintendo Pictures would exist, the studio knew nothing about this project and it is simply a curious coincidence that serves as a reminder that everything could happen and that there are several fans of Osu! Tatakae! ouendan Y Elite Beat Agents that ask for returns.
