The year began with outstanding events from Xbox and Nintendo; however, PlayStation has yet to give any indication of an imminent reveal. Things could change very soon, as a very reliable source assured that a State of Play is just around the corner.
Jeff Grubb, journalist for Giant Bomb, backed up the recent rumors about a State of Play and added that Sony is also working on a PlayStation Showcase. Although this is good news, the source asked fans to control their expectations for a good reason.

What we know about upcoming PlayStation events
According to Grubb, the next State of Play will take place in about 1 month, but for now he does not have the exact information. Thus, the presentation would take place at some point in March to reveal news that would arrive in the first half of the year or a little later on Sony consoles.
“There will be a State of Play here very soon, so even more games will be announced!” said the journalist. He added that the players should control their expectations, as it will not be a presentation that will make them lose their minds. So he recommended that they lower their hype from now on.
“Don’t get your hopes up too high. It’s apparently going to be a rather bland and low-key State of Play,” the source added.
Later, he revealed that Sony is already preparing another surprise for its players: a new PlayStation Showcase, which would take place sometime in the summer. It’s important to note that as of this writing, none of the events have been confirmed by Sony.
