Remains of at least 27 migrants killed in the Darien jungle this year recovered, Panamanian authorities say

Figures from the Panamanian Ministry of Security indicate that, until this Monday, more than 175,000 migrants entered the Darién jungle irregularly. In 2022, the total entry of migrants through that same route was 248,000 people.

In 2023, Venezuelans, with more than 87,000 entries through Darién, surpass Haitians, who are the second nationality that passes the most through these roads, with more than 32,000 migrants; They are followed by Ecuadorians who, according to the records of the Ministry of Security, have already exceeded 21,000 migrants.

As of Monday, so far in June, more than 9,000 migrants have crossed the dangerous route.
