Relatives of Israelis kidnapped on October 7 break into Gaza after crossing the border fence

Aug. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –

A group of relatives of Israelis kidnapped during the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions briefly broke into the Gaza Strip on Thursday after crossing the separation fence during a protest to demand an agreement for their release.

“Closest to them. Relatives of kidnapped people crying for their loved ones on the Gaza border have crossed the border and run towards their loved ones in Gaza,” the Forum of Families of Abducted and Missing Persons said on its social media account X.

The agency said that protesters gathered in the area early in the morning to send messages to their loved ones via loudspeakers, after which several of them managed to cross the separation fence “to get as close as possible” to the hostages.

However, he said that these people “have listened to the calls of the security forces and are making their way back to Kibbutz Nirim,” before denouncing that these families “have been waiting for almost eleven months for the Israeli government to secure the return of the kidnapped people.” “Eleven months of hope and disappointment,” he lamented.

The Israeli army launched an offensive against Gaza following the attacks on October 7, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities. Gazan authorities, controlled by Hamas, have so far claimed more than 40,600 Palestinians killed in attacks by Israeli troops, in addition to more than 660 dead in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
