September 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The hostage families’ forum has denounced that the hostages whose bodies were recovered this Sunday by the Israeli Army, would be alive “if it were not for the madness, excuses and twists” of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.
“An agreement to return the hostages has been on the table for more than two months. If it weren’t for the madness, the excuses and the backtracking, the kidnapped people whose deaths we learned about this morning would probably be alive,” the Forum of Families of Kidnapped and Disappeared Persons said on its social media account X.
In the same message, the group of relatives of Israelis kidnapped on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has criticized Netanyahu’s cabinet for “not doing what is expected of a government for eleven months: bringing their sons and daughters home.”
In this regard, he appealed directly to the Prime Minister. “Netanyahu: Enough of excuses. Enough of spin. Enough of abandonment. (…). The time has come to bring home our hostages: the living to rehabilitate them and the dead and murdered to bury them in their country.”
The statement comes after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recovered the remains of Carmel Gat, Aden Yerushalmi, Alexander Lubnov, Almog Sarosi, Uri Danino and Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who “were kidnapped in Shiva in October and killed by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.”
The forum has called on the population to “get ready” to demonstrate this Sunday in response to the discovery of the bodies and to protest the “abandonment of the hostages” by the government. “Netanyahu abandoned the hostages. Now it is a fact. Starting tomorrow, the country will tremble (…). The country will come to a standstill. The abandonment is over,” it said on the aforementioned platform.
