Regional seminar “The circular economy in mining in Peru”

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru, the secretariat of the Annual Conference of Mining Ministries of the Americas (CAMMA) and the Deutsche Gelleschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), within the framework of the Regional Cooperation Programme for the Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources in the Andean Countries (MinSus), will hold the regional seminar “The circular economy in mining in Peru”, in a hybrid format, in Lima, Peru, on 10 and 11 July 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m. in Peru (10:00 a.m. in Chile).

The aim of the regional seminar is to broaden the understanding of the circular economy in mining and promote collaboration on this topic among key players involved in the mining industry.

The event’s dynamics include spaces for dialogue that will foster the exchange of knowledge, experiences and perspectives on the circular economy in mining between government representatives, mining companies, environmental organizations and local communities. Through these discussion scenarios, the aim is to inform, train and inspire political decision-makers to actively promote the circular economy in the mining industry.

The event is aimed at public policy makers, experts, academics, affiliated and non-affiliated mining companies, civil society organizations, business associations, international cooperation, investors and financiers interested in promoting the circular economy in Peruvian and Andean mining.
