Redmi Watch 3, a day-to-day watch that fulfills what it promises without great pretensions

May 6. (EDITIONS/Portaltic) –

The watch redmi watch 3 It arrived on the Spanish market at the end of March as a new proposal from Xiaomi for the daily use of a health and physical activity monitoring device, without many more pretensions, and with an autonomy of up to twelve days.

This device assumes a small leap in design from previous Redmi Watch models; Although it maintains the rectangular shape of the screen, the new model extends its diagonal up to 1.75 inches to offer a larger surface area for use.

Also use an AMOLED panelwhich in practice, as we have been able to verify in Portaltic, improves both the visualization of the metrics and the handling of the device itself.

Lit, draws attention color contrast and brightnesswhich allows you to track the activity abroad, where light typically darkens and blurs images on the screen. In this case, and with a brightness around 60 percent, the data is displayed with vivid colors and precise line graphs.

Sticking with the design, too protrudes silicone strapor rather its closure, since in the new Redmi proposal it uses a point with which to hook the hole and hides the rest of the tab on the inside.

this design tighten the fitsince the strap adapts better to the wrist, and prevents the tab from being loose, something that happens especially if the wrist is thin, making the watch it is more aesthetic and more comfortable to wear.

USE EXPERIENCE

Redmi Watch 3 does not bring great news that seeks to revolutionize the ‘smartwatches’ market, but compared to its predecessors, the larger screen is already a success, to which is added the ability to take calls thanks to the microphone and speaker that it incorporates under the start button.

Also has good autonomy. Xiaomi promises up to twelve days of duration on a single charge, but in our test, although it has come close to this estimate, we concluded that its autonomy reaches about ten days without problem.

We understand that we have given a rather standard usagewearing the watch synced all day, to receive messaging alerts on the wrist and have more general monitoring of steps, heart rate and reminders to get up, with a couple of hours of more intense activity in the afternoonfrom walking or running outdoors, in which GPS has been activated.

Maybe even slightly lightly used, as this watch offers modes for up to 121 activities and health metrics that help make a sleep, stress and menstrual cycle tracking. In any case, the data it offers seems to be accurate, since it detects changes in heart rate (taking the stairs to the office instead of taking the elevator, sitting in front of the computer, running to catch the subway, etc.) and the step count and moving time appear to be correct as well.

As usual in this type of device, Redmi Watch 3 offers a collection of spheres to customize the screen, and it allows changing the silicone strap for another one that better suits our preferences. And although the model we have tested is black, it is also available in a lighter color, ivory.

The wide variety of activity modes to which it gives access, of health metrics that it allows to monitor, the possibility of accepting calls from the wrist and the slightly larger screen are the main strengths of a watch that It is not called to revolutionize this segment of product but that at least complies with what it offers and with no other claim than to accompany the user in their day to day.
