In an effort to democratize access to knowledge on sociodemographic issues, CELADE – Population Division of ECLAC, has trained more than 600 people in the last five years in Redatam and QGis in virtual mode, which has expanded the reach of its courses, promoting the practical use of census information in diagnoses aligned with the 2030 Agenda, providing key tools for decision-making in public policies.
Looking to the future, CELADE will continue to focus on the exploitation of the 2020 round censuses, promoting a comparative approach to analyze the population dynamics of Latin America and the Caribbean using the Redatam software. This effort reinforces ECLAC’s commitment to using censuses as a strategic resource to advance the fulfillment of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda.
