The Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi, reproached the West this Sunday for its “double standards” by focusing on the case of Mahsa Amini, who died in Tehran after being arrested by the Moral Police for not wearing the veil properly, while ignoring the attacks on schools in Afghanistan carried out by groups “supported by the United States”.
“The issue of Ms Amini’s death is being closely watched in Iran and has been highlighted by the authorities, as the enemy tries to divert public attention from the killing of Afghan girls in a school by US-backed terrorist groups. United States,” Raisi said in statements reported by the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
Raisi is referring to the suicide attack carried out on Friday at a Kabul educational center in which 35 people were killed. So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the explosion fits in with the ‘modus operandi’ of the Islamic State jihadist organization.
“There is no reaction from the self-proclaimed activists! In such a situation, is it acceptable to claim to be a defender of Human Rights and women’s rights on behalf of Westerners?”
Raisi has thus pointed to a “new conspiracy” by the Western media to impede Iran’s progress. “When the Islamic Republic was overcoming the economic problems and was beginning to be more active in the region and in the world, the enemies have come into play with the intention of isolating the country, but they have also failed in this conspiracy,” he stressed. .
In Iran, at least 92 people have died since the beginning of the protests over the death of the young Kurdish-Iranian, according to the latest balance published by the human rights organization Iran Human Rights.
