The collection took place between May 15 and June 16 of this year. Now, Fundación Monte de Piedad will be in charge of delivering the donations. The beneficiary organizations will be: the Mexican Institute of Ophthalmology, the humanist foundation to help the disabled, the civil association friendly to children from Colima and Impacto, sustainable rural development.
“Although more than an economic amount, our goal this year was to exceed the number of people to benefit with this campaign full of love and desire to help, we exceeded the minimum collection that we had estimated at 1.2 million pesos,” said María Teresa Cosío, Quálitas social responsibility manager.
Last year, the insurer’s board of directors added, close to 19.3 million pesos were delivered to 55 organizations and 21,619 people were benefited, of which 15,941 were women.
Monte de Piedad, whose foundation will be in charge of distributing the money, is experiencing problems due to differences between the administration and its union, since they have not been able to reach an agreement on the collective bargaining agreement.
The company points out that if there are no changes, the risk of bankruptcy is latent while the union denies this threat.
