Another of the devices that QNAP has presented at Computex 2024 in Taipei is its new TL-D810TC4, a case with space for 8 3.5-inch hard drives with SATA III connectivity, compatible with JBOD disk systems, and that uses a 40 Gbps USB 4 port for external data access. This adds to the 10 and 25 GbE network cards that the company also launched with USB 4 connectivity.
It connects directly to NAS with the company’s QTS operating system, or QuTS hero, but can also be used directly with computers or servers running Windows, MacOS or Ubuntu without the need for specific drivers.
The QNAP TL-D810TC4 has an automatic fan management system, although it also allows manual control to decide at what speed or what noise levels we want, depending on its location. It has two large fans in the back. It is also capable of delegating energy management to the device it connects to.
A rear switch allows you to activate or deactivate the device’s sound, while another panel allows you to change the speed level of the fans between 3 ranges, in addition to automatic mode. An on/off button completes the buttons and ports of this device, as it delegates all its connectivity to a single 40 Gbps USB 4.
