The Qatari Foreign Ministry assured this Thursday night that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has not yet sent a response to the ‘road map’ presented by the US president, Joe Biden, for a ceasefire ” immediate” in the Gaza Strip and the release of all hostages held in the Palestinian enclave, as the group continues to “study” the proposal.
“The mediators had not yet received a response from Hamas regarding the latest proposed ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and the Israeli occupation forces. Hamas said it was studying the proposal at that time,” the Hamas spokesman said. Qatari diplomat, Mayed al Ansari, in a statement.
Following this, he stated that Qatar, Egypt and the United States are “pressing” together both to mediate and to request that only “reliable official sources” be listened to at a time of “delicate negotiations.”
For his part, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller has confirmed that there is still no response from the Palestinian group, and has assured that Washington would like to see a response “as soon as possible.”

Last Friday, Biden detailed a ‘roadmap’ proposed by Israel with three phases. The first would last six weeks and would include a ceasefire with the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the most populated areas of Gaza and the release of some of the hostages, including women, children and the elderly, in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners. .
The US president explained that the second phase includes the release of all remaining living hostages, including military personnel, and the Israeli Army will withdraw from the Palestinian enclave. Finally, the third part contemplates “an important reconstruction plan for Gaza.”
