MADRID 24 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has not denied the presence of North Korean troops in the war in Ukraine and has recalled that one of the points of the agreement that Moscow and Pyongyang endorsed contemplates military assistance. “How we will act within the framework of this article is our business,” he concluded.

Said agreement contains in its article 4 military assistance to an ally. “We must hold proper negotiations on how to implement it. We are in contact with our North Korean friends. Let’s see how this process develops,” he said at the BRICS summit.

“We have never doubted at all that the North Korean leaders take our agreements seriously,” said Putin, who has not gone into assessing the satellite images that would confirm the presence of these troops in Russian territory. “If there are photographs, they reflect something,” he simply said.

Immediately afterwards, Putin said that it was not Russia that initiated the escalation of the Ukraine conflict, and mentioned “the 2014 coup d’état” – in reference to the pro-European protests that overthrew President Viktor Yanukovych – and the fact of “actively arming” kyiv, reports the Interfax agency.

“What is the reason for the direct participation of soldiers from the armies of NATO countries in this conflict?” asked Putin, who has focused on the presence of NATO military instructors also in the conflict.

“We know how unmanned marine vehicles are launched into the Black Sea. We know which European NATO countries and how they carry out this work. The same applies to military instructors and the use of high-precision weapons, including ATACAMS and Storm Shadow,” he said, thus mentioning American and British weaponry.
