Russian President Vladimir Putin has challenged USA to a “duel” between Russian hypersonic Oreshnik missiles and American and Western defense systems located in Ukraine.
“Let them choose any facility for us to attack. Let’s say in Kyiv. Let them concentrate all their anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems there. And we will attack with a missile Oreshnik. And we’ll see what happens. We are prepared for that experiment,” Putin said very confidently during the annual press conference he offers to take stock of the year.
Furthermore, Putin assured this Thursday that he does not know how long the war in Ukraine will last, but he stressed that Russia is getting closer and closer to “achieve your goals” in the neighboring country.
The Russian leader has stated that the situation on the front is changing “radically” and that Russian troops conquer “square kilometers daily”. Of course, he has not dared to predict the duration of the war in the neighboring country. It is not the first time that the Kremlin claims that it is “closer” to achieving its objectives in Ukraine after almost three years of invasion.
Putin has also taken stock of the country’s economy. He has assured that the Russian economy is “stable”although he has admitted that he suffers from “overheating” in terms of inflation, which is on the rise.
“There are certain problems, specifically the inflationa certain overheating of the economy, and the Government and the Central Bank are already in charge of reducing it,” he explained.
“I believe that the growth rate of the economy will be 2-2.5% in 2025, which will maintain macroeconomic indicators,” he added.
