The ranchers’ union reported that in just eight days the offer of properties for sale increased “exponentially”, from 502 to 741 and simultaneously increased the volume of land from 303,000 to 348,767 hectares.

According to Fedegan, 239 properties and more than 40,000 additional hectares were offered by telephone with which it is perceived that the call of the National Government and Fedegán in the sense of the need for a greater supply of land, has been permeating among those interested in selling their properties with impressive speed.

These 741 offers that the union has received and transferred from the National Land Agency (ANT) They come from 28 departments, among which most originate in Arauca with 156,363 hectares., followed by Meta (62,184 ha), Vichada (20,623 ha), Cesar (17,991 ha), Bolívar (17,002 ha) and Casanare (14,179 ha). In the remaining 22 departments, offers are registered for smaller areas of land.

From the framework of the negotiations with the ELN, José Félix Lafaurie, president of Fedegan, said that “We want the Land Agreement process established with the national government to be successful and, for this reason, I invite ranchers who want to sell their land to do so and manage under the commercial terms established by the National Land Agency ( OLD)“.

The coast has the highest demand

For his part, José De Silvestri, Fedegán’s technical manager, stated that the Caribbean coast, specifically in the departments of Cesar, Córdoba and Sucre, there is the highest percentage of land applications to the Government. “In total, there are 300,000 requests from the same number of families in the country and, of these, 45,000 requests come from Cesar, Sucre 57,000 and Córdoba 53,000,” he explained.

Another number of offers come from the Eastern Plains, where lands of up to 50,000 hectares have been offered for sale.which is a high volume of physical space with agricultural potential that is the objective of the Government.
