San Juan (EFE).- Puerto Rican reggaeton artists Zion and Lennox announced their separation as a duo after more than 20 years of career due to the former’s “professional and personal interests.”

“With more than 20 years of experience in urban music and a successful career that has transcended borders, Zion, recognized as one of the most iconic voices of the genre, officially announces his decision to separate himself from his musical duo with Lennox,” said the Zion team in a press release.

The decision, according to the note, “is made after a careful evaluation of Zion’s professional and personal interests in early 2024.”

However, due to “recent publications that have affected the public and professional perception of the joint brand, we have decided to share the news with the public,” the statement added.

The announcement of the separation comes after Lennox appeared without Zion at the closing campaign on November 3 of the governor-elect of Puerto Rico, Jenniffer González, of the New Progressive Party.

“We consider it necessary to make this decision to protect the integrity of its brand and Zion can focus on its future projects,” stated Zion’s work team.
