The PlayStation 5 Pro will offer a higher quality and performance experience in those games that specifically take advantage of its hardware, in fact it will be indicated on a label that they will have particular improvements if they run on the new Sony console. However, the rest of the PS5 library will not be left behind thanks to a feature that is included in the hardware. Unfortunately, This does not mean that all games will run at 60 frames per second or higher.
Thousands of games will have improvements on PS5 Pro, but not everything is good news
In a statement shared in X by user “Zuby_Tech_Pro“Toshimasa Aoki, PlayStation product manager, reaffirmed that more than 8,500 PS4 and PS5 video games will experience various improvements when running on PS5 Pro thanks to the Game Boost function. In this regard, the manager noted that this is good news for the games that They have a variable frame rate per second as it will provide greater stability, so the visual experience will be more fluid if they run from the new console.
Unfortunately, this will not apply to all video games on PS5 Pro because, at the same time, Toshimasa Aoki pointed out that those titles that are limited to 30 fps will remain the same. In this regard, it should be noted that this is the decision of the studios and not Sony: “PS5 Pro has a function called Game Boost. Even if it is not a version compatible with PS5 Pro, if the game uses a variable refresh rate or resolution variable, it will be able to display more stably even if it is set to high settings. However, for games that are fixed at 30fps, it cannot be supported unless it is unlocked.”
In related information, a report from a reliable source revealed that PS5 Pro pre-sales have not been sold out in important markets such as the United States and the United Kingdom. It is thought that the price of $699.99 USD has had something to do with the players’ decision, in addition to the absence of a sufficient number of current generation games to justify the expense on the new Sony console.
