Konami announced today the new version of SILENT HILL 2the psychological horror game originally released in 2001 coming to PS5 and STEAM. Created by Bloober Team, composer Akira Yamaoka, and artist Masahiro Ito, the haunting fog-shrouded city will be restructured with enhanced sights, sounds, and gameplay.

The new version of SILENT HILL 2 re-introduces main character James Sunderland and his search for clues in the city of the same name, after receiving a mysterious letter from his wife Mary… who is long dead. He knows the creepy monsters and other manifestations of James’ consciousness reimagined after 20 years using state-of-the-art technology to play on modern 4K entertainment systems.
For its part, SILENT HILL Transmission revealed four other new projects in the works:
SILENT HILL: Townfall is a co-production with renowned publisher Annapurna Interactive (Stray, Outer Wilds, Neon White) and multiple BAFTA award-winning independent developer No Code Studios (Stories Untold, Observation). This partnership represents how incredible studios and creatives from around the world will offer a new perspective on the iconic Silent Hill franchise. More details about SILENT HILL: Townfall and KONAMI’s partnership with Annapurna Interactive and No Code Studios will be revealed in the future.
SILENT HILL f It will be a completely new story, set in Japan in the 1960s, a beautiful but terrifying world. Written by Ryūkishi07, famous for his Japanese visual novels dealing with murder mysteries, psychological horror, and the supernatural.
SILENT HILL: Ascension will immerse participants from around the world in the psychological horror at the heart of SILENT HILL in a unique way, putting a new story and characters from SILENT HILL in the hands of the audience as the narrative unfolds live on various platforms . SILENT HILL: Ascension is a joint creation between Genvid Entertainment, Bad Robot Games, Behavior Interactive and dj2 Entertainment.
