The reform seeks to gradually increase the contributions made by employers to Afores until 2030.
The new president recognizes the complexity of strengthening voluntary savings, since this scheme has tax incentives and facilitation without it being able to take off considerably so far.
“If you don’t understand the problem well, how are you going to solve it? So what do I learn from all this narrative? That saving is very difficult and convincing people to save is also difficult, ”she says. “So what do I have to do? One, I have to make their lives easier. And two, I have to encourage it, ”she says.
Zamarripa Escamilla, who has a degree in Economics and Public Accounting from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), and an MBA from the University of Chicago, admits the complexity of the problem: “It is a challenge well The one we have is strong, I think it will be one of the main issues because for certain groups of workers, it is essential that there is a good base of voluntary savings”.
The future manager says he is grateful for the appointment and that once he takes office on April 10, he will begin a dialogue process with the Afores to establish a work plan for the following months.
