BILBAO, July 14 () –
The strike called for this Thursday at Mercedes Benz Vitoria by ELA, LAB and ESK is having a follow-up of 95% by the workforce and production in the factory is once again stopped, as it was this past Wednesday, according to LAB sources have informed Europa Press.
These stoppages occur after last Tuesday a preliminary agreement was reached on the agreement with the union majority made up of CCOO, UGT, Ekintza and PIM.
That pre-agreement did not have the support of ELA, LAB and ESK, which maintained the strike on Wednesday and decided to also continue with the stoppages that they had called for this Thursday and Friday after a workers’ assembly.
For its part, the company’s management has reported that it is a “very good agreement” with which the investment of 1,200 million planned for this factory is “enabled”, but its head, Emilio Titos, warned that if on Monday the pre-agreement is rejected in the planned referendum it will be the “beginning of the end”.
In this regard, from LAB, after highlighting the extensive monitoring of the strike, they have criticized the fact that the company tries to “instill fear so that people go to work”. As they have recalled, the company has “more benefits than ever” so they do not understand why they do not attend to their demand to link wage increases to the CPI.
