Pro-Russian authorities in the occupied area of ​​the eastern Ukrainian province of Lugansk reported on Sunday the death of a firefighter in a drone attack on the town of Novoaidarski.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry said the fire was caused by the impact of several drones, adding that the explosive carried by one of them detonated during efforts to fight the blaze, the Russian news agency Interfax reported.

He also said that two other firefighters had been injured by shrapnel and had been taken to a nearby hospital, but no further details were given on their condition. Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
